2025 Club Nights & Events Calendar
Club Nights and Outside Events
Club nights are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Christchurch Centre, High Oaks, St Albans, AL3 6DJ and start at 7.00pm. Non-members are always welcome and refreshments are served. An entry charge of £3 is made to cover hall costs and refreshments. The charge can be paid by debit/credit card or by cash (correct amount please).
Chipperfield Track (Puffing Park) Running Sessions.
There are normally two Club running sessions each calendar month at the Puffing Park . They are at 13:30 on the first Sunday after club nights and on Sunday afternoon at 13:30 two weeks after the club night .
Club night dates are listed below, so to check availability attend the Club night, or check with Roger Stephen by phone or email, or join his regular Puffing Park e-mail list. To reduce the risk of getting stuck you are advised to check ground conditions carefully before driving beyond the entrance gates.

CLUB EVENTS
8th Jan - Club Night: Film Show - Mike G treats us to some BFI transport films.
12th Feb - Club Night: Mike Collins, Enhancing the usability and realism of a 1/6 scale model Tiger Tank.
12th March - Club Night: Andrew Knowles on making a lantern clock. Then tea break and, Scalextric for rest of the evening. Click HERE to see club night poster.
9th April - Club Night: AGM followed by Club Auction.
14th May - Club Night: Mike Collins with an evening on considerable progress on Stirling Single
11th June - Club Night: At Puffing Park, or if the weather is bad, at Christ Church Centre with 'work on the table'. Look out for the last minute email confirming the venue!
9th July - 8:00 am. The BIG Container Migration - head along to Puffing Park to help shift the contents of the two containers as they will be emptied before being moved by a Telehandler to their new Puffing Park locations.
9th July - 7:30 pm. Club Night: "CNC? No Skill Required!" a talk by John Scott from the Bedford Model Engineering Society
27th July - Portable Track & Display at Clarence Park. St.Albans
13th August - Club Night: A talk about redundant and retired planes 'moth-balled' in the desert in the US.
10th September - Club Night: An evening devoted to trains. Starting with assembling a G1 loco with reference to the inside working etc. Jim as narrator and Brian as builder. After the break, fitting radio into 16mm scale narrow gauge running on 32mm track (0 gauge). David Jones.
14th September - Gazebo & model boat display + 'Have-a-Go' boats at Verulamium Park St.Albans EVENT CANCELLED because of bad weather.
27th & 28th September - Club Exhibition at Townsend School St.Albans. Support required from all members for this major club event.
8th October - Club Night: History of Willesden depot and the locomotives maintained there. Mark and Michael.
12th November - Club Night : 3D Printing - It will cover the speaker's first encounters and then what is involved, how the programmes are produced with the hobby centred around model railways. Also the pros and cons and some of the items he has made. He will be using the screen to illustrate his talk.
10th December - Club Night: Christmas evening.
