January 2026 Club Night Report

January club evening 2026.

We gathered again in yet another start of another year.  The subject, now a regular one of a film show.  It used to be cine film from our good friend Frank Banfield as projectionist, but we have not seen from him for 2 years now because of illness.

Into this gap for the second year our Treasurer Mike has stepped in and filled his spot.  Mike had told me that it is not just finding a couple of DVD's it is a lot of reviewing and timing and cutting out the 'boring stuff.'

We saw a good selection of films and the first one on digging the Severn Tunnel, generated a lot of interest.  we had a varied collection of films and I did like the Stanley Holloway story of 3rd. Sam, reminded me of the monologues that were entertainment when the radio was king.  An enjoyable evening.

We had a break with tea and coffee from Jack and Neil, thanks go out to the members who put out the chairs and tables.  Great to see you all (well some of you) come back after the cold holiday period.  Thanks go to the various members who bring other members with them for club evenings, I for one am grateful for this kind service.

We have a good line up of subjects for this coming year and hope you will all enjoy them.

Regards to all.
