2023 Club Nights & Events Calendar
Club Nights and Outside Events
Club nights are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Christchurch Centre, High Oaks, St Albans, AL3 6DJ and start at 7.00pm. Non-members are always welcome and refreshments are served. An entry charge of £3 is made to cover hall costs and refreshments. The charge can be paid by debit/credit card or by cash (correct amount please).
Chipperfield Track (Puffing Park) Running Sessions.
There are normally two Club running sessions each calendar month at the Puffing Park . They are at 13:30 on the first Sunday after club nights and on Sunday afternoon at 13:30 two weeks after the club night .
Club night dates are listed below, so to check availability attend the Club night, or check with Roger Stephen by phone or email, or join his regular Puffing Park e-mail list. To reduce the risk of getting stuck you are advised to check ground conditions carefully before driving beyond the entrance gates.

CLUB EVENTS
14th December 2022 - 7:30pm Society Meeting & Christmas Party - Sausage rolls, cake, raffle, a puzzle competition and Terry Summers will be giving an illustrated talk.
11th January 2023 - 7:30pm Society Meeting - Frank Banfield's Famous Film Show.
8th February - 7:30pm Society Meeting - Malcolm and Roy will be giving the background build up over several months to getting a steam driven model boat to run for 24 hours in an endurance test at Welwyn lakes. This involved a new engine and boiler design and the first application of electronic water level control in model boats and adapting the RC transmitter.
8th March - 7:30pm Society Meeting - Club Auction......CANCELLED due to bad weather.
9th April - Easter Egg Regatta at Verulamium Park Model Boating Lake
12th April - 7:30pm Society Meeting - AGM & Club Auction.
16th April - Sunday Sailing at Verulamium Park
16th April - First scheduled running session of the season at Puffing Park. Conditions permitting.
10th May - 7:30pm Society Meeting - Dave Batchelor talks about model jet engines
21st May - Sunday Sailing at Verulamium Park
14th June - 7.00pm Society Meeting - CHANGE OF VENUE. Now at Christchurch Centre, bring your latest projects and models to show your fellow members.

25th June - Club outing to Fawley Steam Railway & Museum. Henley on Thames.
12th July - 6:00pm Society Meeting - At Puffing Park. Bring your trains, latest projects, drones and own refreshments.

6th August - Club BBQ at the Puffing Park - POSTPONED through bad weather.
9th August - 7:00pm Society Meeting - Brian to take us through safely firing his G.1 loco and Rob on model boats.
