2024 Club Running Sessions at the Puffing Park
The scheduled club running sessions at the Puffing Field are now on Sunday
afternoons after club night and again two weeks after that, both sessions starting at 13:30.
Thus, the scheduled dates for the remainder of 2024 are as follows:
April 14th & 28th (assuming the ground has dried out sufficiently)
May 12th & 26th
June 16th & 30th
July 14th & 28th
August 18th (unless we are running the portable track at Clarence Park)
September 1st & 15th
October 13th & 27th (subject to ground conditions)
September 29th is missing because of the club exhibition.
Running may also be possible from November to March but weather and ground conditions in the car park area and under parts of the track generally conspire against it.
These dates are all subject to weather, ground conditions in the car park and availability of someone to open up and act as track marshal. Roger Stephen will endeavour to send out an email to those members who are on his Puffing Group list in advance of scheduled running sessions. If you wish to be added to that list please let Roger know. Subject to serviceability the club steam loco ‘Polly’ and the club electric loco should be available for members’ use at club running sessions. The track may also be used privately by members at other times by arrangement through Roger. At least two people must be present when anyone is running a loco, be it steam or electric.
